Baker Rites Set Saturday In Woodward

Funeral services for Thompson Edward "T. E." Baker, 1703 Main Street, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel of the Armstrong Funeral Home. The Rev. J. J. Stowe Jr., of the Methodist church will officiate.

Mr. Baker died Monday in Pittsburg, Kan. He was born August 26, 1871 at Red Rock, Pa., and moved to Woodward in 1907. He built the Baker hotel in 1912 and operated it until 1925. His wife preceded him in death December 31, 1957.

He is survived by four sons, Earl, Woodward; Dorsey, Portland, Ore.; Orie, San Francisco, Calif., and Milo of Pittsburg, Kan; one sister, Mrs. Katherine Rarkell of Seattle, Wash; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery under the direction of the Armstrong Funeral Home.
