Gracie Louise (Loesch) Bensch, 77, of Logan, Okla., died Tuesday, July 3, 2007 in Perryton, Texas. Funeral services will be Friday, July 6, 2007 at 2 p.m. at the Midway Country Church in Logan, Okla. with Pastor Jack Cornell officiating. Burial will be at the Kiowa Cemetery of Logan immediately following the service. Arrangements are by Johnson's Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Booker, Texas.

Gracie was born Dec. 21, 1929 to Fred and Maggie Loesch at her childhood home southeast of Booker, Texas. She was the oldest of three children. She graduated from Booker High School in 1948 where she enjoyed playing tennis on the high school team. Gracie also enjoyed ping pong and was able to outscore here children well into her middle age.

After graduating high school, Gracie attended Friends Bible College at Haviland, Kan. It was there that she met her future husband Glenford Bensch. They were married on Aug. 6, 1950 at View Point Friends Church and made their home in the Logan, Okla. community. They farmed and ranched for almost 57 years including 35 years of operating a dairy. They lived in the same house all those years and it was there that Gracie did what she wanted to be remembered for, "Raising a Christian family who loved God." Gracie loved to quilt, crochet and was a very good cook. She made many beautiful items through the years. Her children loved her trademark, plate-sized pancakes.

Gracie was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother, Delmar Dean Loesch.

Gracie leaves as her survivors her husband Glenford of the home; four sons, Randall Bensch and wife Joyce of Logan, Okla., Lynden Bensch and wife Starley of Seiling, Okla., Curtis Bensch and wife Michele of Goodwell, Okla., and Stuart Bensch of Blackwell, Okla.; one daughter, Glenda Buschman and husband Alvin of Cave Springs, Ark.; one brother, Freddie Loesch and wife Cleo of Booker, Texas; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews as well as many other relatives and a host of friends.
