Lewy Benson, 50-year-old Woodward resident, went to be with Jesus on Monday, Oct. 2, 2006 in Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006 in the First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Lonnie Rutherford and the Rev. Donetta Hunter officiating. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Lewis Wayne Benson was born Dec. 31, 1955 in Woodward, Okla.; he was the son of Leslie and Frances Benson. Lewy attended Woodward schools and graduated from Woodward High School in 1974. He had worked for the City of Woodward in the Water Department for 28 years.

Lewy loved to rock hunt, fish and go hunting. He also loved to work outside on his yard and it is beautiful. Lewy loved the Lord and told many people about God. He never met a stranger, even as a little boy. He helped so many people.

He is survived by his daughter, Tiffany Ann Benson; sons, Taylor Benson; Kyle Benson and wife Jessica; his mother Frances Benson; brother, Mike Benson and wife Lana; sisters, Leslie Diane McAninch; Angela Newell and husband Kenny; his grandchildren, Jada, Jayce and Joree; nephews, Derek, Adam and niece, Katy Benson; special aunt, Lois Rankin and other loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his father Leslie Benson and many other loved ones.
