Woodward, Okla. — Memorial Services for Peter K. “Pete”, Betzen, 84, of Wichita will be held 2:00 PM Saturday April 26, 2009 at the Nichols-Zwanziger Chapel with Fr. D. Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of the Nichols-Zwanziger Funeral Home in Woodward.

Peter was born on the family farm in Sharon, Oklahoma; He passed away on April 17, 2009 in Wichita, KS.

After a stint in the Korean War with the Big Red One he made his home in Wichita, KS, where he retired from the U.S. Post Office. He was an avid sportsman & outdoorsman. He enjoyed playing baseball and farming and ranching. He was a generous and loving husband, daddy, and Papa. He taught us to have pride in our work and faith in God. He loved us so much and we all knew it. We were blessed to have him in our lives. We will miss him dearly but find comfort in the fact that he is at peace with his Father in Heaven.

He leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Bettie; daughters, Roxanne (Mike) Nichols, Rebecca (Guy) Gaskill; sons, Randy (Sonja) Betzen and Ron Betzen; 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and loves ones.
