Artie Max Bohard, 67, of North Little Rock, went to be with the Lord, Friday, October 27, 2000. He was born February 22, 1933, in Supply, Oklahoma. Max served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Iowa from 1952 - 1956 and the U.S.Air Force until he retired in 1978. He served in Korea, Greenland, Thailand, and Vietnam where he received the Purple Heart. He retired in February 1998 from the State of Arkansas Office of State Purchasing.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years Gertrude Ann Bohard of North Little Rock; daughter and son-in-law Robin and Mike Cave of Tallahassee, Florida; daughter and son-in-law Sara and Steve Baldridge of North Little Rock; Daughter, Amy Bohard of Atlanta, Georgia; granddaughters, Megan Childs of North Little Rock and April Delong of Jacksonville; sisters Iola Bentch of Cabot, Flo Dennis and Faye Coombs of Woodward, OK, Carol Hart of Grapeview, WA; and a brother Bill Bohard of Oklahoma City, OK. A daughter, Kathy Bohard Taylor; grandson Cory Desbrow; and a son-in-law, Gene Cardenas preceded him in death.

A memorial mass was held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct.30, in the Little Rock Air Force Base Chapel with Father Bob Higginbotham officiating. Interment followed at Rest Hills Memorial Park. Arrangements by Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock (501)835-3515.
