Finley Bradshaw, 94-year-old Mooreland resident, died Friday, October 20, 2000 at his home in Mooreland. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.Tuesday in the Mooreland First Assembly of God Church with the Reverend Robert Jackson and the Reverend Larry Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedardale Cemetery with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Charles Finley Bradshaw was born on October 4, 1906 in Lenexa, Kansas to Charles Alfred and Minnie C. (Finley) Bradshaw. Finley came with his family to Quinlan when he was two years old by train, arriving on Christmas Eve in 1908. He was reared in the Quinlan-Cedardale area. He attended Cedardale School and graduated from Quinlan High School. Finley attended Northwest Teachers College in Alva and received his teaching certificate. He taught school at the Mayfield School.

Finley was married to Pearl Sobina Smith on April 27, 1929 at Tologa, Oklahoma. They made their home on the farm south of Quinlan and lived in that vicinity most of their married life. Finley was a farmer and cattleman and enjoyed working with his cattle; that was his life. Finley and Pearl moved to Mooreland in 1976. She preceded him in death on March 12, 1978. Finley continued living in Mooreland and devoted his time with the cattle operation. Finley was married to Mildred Bensch on June 29, 1979 in Seiling, Oklahoma. They made their home in Mooreland and have continued living there since that time.

Finley was a member of the Mooreland First Assembly of God Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred of the home; one daughter, Norma Covalt of Mooreland; 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and four great-great grand children; Mildred's children, Duane Benscha and wife Yvonne of Chester, Carolyn Wyckoff and husband Renzie of Chester; Ruth Ann Evans and her husband Kenneth of Stillwater; and Lyle Bensch of Seiling.

He was preceded in death by one son, Maurice in 1947, one brother and 5 sisters.
