John T. Brant, 83-year-old resident of Woodward, died Sept. 2, 2007 at the Crystal Wood Village, Woodward.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007 in the Zwanziger Funeral Chapel with Deacon Phil Kenny presiding. Burial will follow at the Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Zwanziger Funeral Home.

John Thomas Brant was born Dec. 27, 1923 at Dunlap, Okla. to Ray T. and Nettie M. (Christman) Brant. He was a 1940 graduate of May High School. John married Thelma Dailing on Oct. 12, 1976 at Clayton, N. M. He worked in the oil field with Allred Construction from 1978-1985 and then retired. John loved working in the wood shop, making things for the kids, cradles for their baby dolls and toys to play with and book cases for their toys. John was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church of Woodward.

He is survived by one son Raymond L. Main and wife Linda, Las Vegas, Nev., by the daughters Peggy Evonoika and husband David of Montrose, Colo., Carolyn Frazier and husband Edward, Woodward, Okla., and Jody J. Jones and husband Mikeal, 10 grandchildren, Karl Main, Jackie Main, Donna Deveraux, Tricia Manyik, Deanna Maxwell, Edward (Spike) Frazier II, Adam Frazier, Jeffrey Elliot and John Elliott and Rebeka Jones, and four great-grandchildren, John and Jacob Manyik and Tyler and Raymond Main, a brother Vernon Brant, Fort Supply, and two sisters, Vivian Grace, May, Okla. and Betty Sterling, Woodward, and a host of other family and friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents, wife Thelma Brant and two sisters.
