Dorothy L. Buck, 82, longtime Guymon resident, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007 at the Dunaway Manor.

The daughter of Florence (Hartline) and John Henry Beck, she was born Oct. 16, 1924 in rural Stuart, Okla. where she spent her childhood. She was united in marriage to James Clinton Buck on June 22, 1945 in Kiowa, Okla.

The Buck family made their home in Wright City, Okla. and later moved to Sturgis, Okla. to farm. The Bucks moved to Guymon in 1972 where Dorothy was employed with GTE. She was a member of First Baptist Church and enjoyed traveling, needlework and crafts.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Clinton Buck of the home; two daughters, Linda Darlene Tiffin and husband, Floyd "Sonny" of Amarillo, Texas; and Debra Sue England and husband, Terry of Buffalo, Okla.; a son, Lane Allen Buck and wife, Rebecca of Anthony, Kan.; two grandsons; seven granddaughters and two step-grandsons. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren and two brothers, Wayne Beck and Troy Beck and wife, Wanda Lee, all of Stuart, Okla.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Virgil Beck and Vernon Beck; a sister, Faye Womack and two great grandchildren, Malori Annette and Maddox Wayne Cotter.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday morning, Jan. 11 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Derek Cox, pastor officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. at High Point Cemetery, Buffalo, Okla. under the care of Henson-Novak Funeral Directors of Guymon.

Memorials may be given in lieu of flowers to the Memorial Hospital of Texas County Hospice, c/o Henson-Novak Funeral Directors, P.O. Box 1306, Guymon, OK 73942

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
