Lela Maude Buczinski, 83-year-old resident of Turlock, Calif. and formerly of Woodward, died Nov. 14, 2006 at Turlock, Calif.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1, 2006 at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Rev. Nallapatti A. Thomas presiding. Burial will follow at the Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of the Zwanziger Funeral Home.

Lela Maude Buczinski was born at Mooreland, Okla., to Frank J. and Mary M. (Smith) Buczinski. She was a 1940 Woodward High School graduate and also attended two years of college. Lela was a supervisor for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. as a telephone operator for 50 years. Lela also worked for Boeing Aircraft as a ribiter. She loved to dance, enjoyed baking, late-hook braided rugs, loved the outdoors, especially the farm. She was a member of the St. Peter's Catholic Church, Woodward.

She is survived by a sister Leta Colvard, Turlock, Calif., nieces Linda Flores, Nola Gonzales and Jackie Armas all of Turlock, nephews Joe Colvard of Oakdale, Mark Colvard, Turlock and Jeff Colvard, West Ossipee N. H.

She was preceded in death by her parents, by her father Frank in 1959 and mother Mary M. Buczinski in 1990.
