Juanita Carolyn (McLain) Butler was born on April 18, 1946 in Woodward to Preston R. McLain and Hazel (Starbuck) McLain. Juanita died peacefully in her sleep on April 17, 2006, just one day short of her 60th birthday at her home in Upland, Calif. as a result of cancer. She was the sixth girl and ninth child out of a wonderful family of nine. Her desire was to be cremated and there will be a private family memorial at a later date.

She was a graduate (1964) Woodward High School. Juanita married Billy Teer on March 19, 1964, and lived for a brief time in Woodward. She later moved to Los Angeles, Calif. area in 1965. Then on Sept. 2, 1977, she married Ronald Butler in California.

Juanita was active in her church and their functions.

She is survived by her husband Ronald Butler, her children, Cherie Teer of Los Angeles, Calif., Eldon Derville-Teer and wife Holly of Portland, Ore., Richard Butler and wife Jill of Phoenix, Ariz., Rebecca Poy and husband Robert of the Los Angeles area; seven grandchildren; two brothers Walter and Mary (King) McLain of Phoenix, Ariz. and Kieth and Evelyn (Rutledge) McLain of Fairview; five sisters Marjorie and Alwyn Cammerer of Valley Center, Kan., Willa and Bruce Gossett of Yuba City, Calif., Fern and Red Qualls of Oklahoma City, Ruth and Allen Fields of Levelland, Texas, Barbara Cardiff and one special sister-in-law Deanna (Randall) McLain of Woodward.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, and her oldest brother Leland.
