L. L. Canfield Dies Today
July 25, 1875 - September 2, 1954

Lester L. Canfield, 79, 601 6th Street, died today, Sept 2, 1954, in Memorial hospital following a three weeks illness.

Lester Lockwood Canfield was born in Jewel County, Kansas, July 25, 1875. He homesteaded southwest of Sharon in 1900 and in 1936, he moved to Woodward and has made his home here since that time. On December 7, 1904, he married Amanda Arnold at Chandler, OK. Mrs. Canfield, (Amanda Arnold Canfield) survives. Besides his wife he is survived by a son, O. C. (Otto Charles) Canfield of Woodward, and five daughters; Mrs. Grace Phillips of Mutual; Mrs. Myrtle Cook, Montrose, Colorado; Mrs. Della Anthem, Mrs. Avis Crites, Mrs. Delean Bellows and Mrs. Mildred Dennett, all of Woodward. One son, Kenneth preceded him in death. He is also survived by twenty-five grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Loren Ryel officiating, in the Chapel of the Stecher Mortuary with burial in Elmwood cemetery. Services at Stecher Mortuary Chapel, Woodward OK, by the Rev. Loren E Ryel
