Ella M. "Sis" Castor, 81-year-old Cedardale resident, died Sunday, June 24, 2007 in the Woodward Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2007 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clyde Irving officiating. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Ella Marie (Salisbury) "Sis" Castor was born Dec. 14, 1925 at home 11 miles southeast of Vici, Okla.; she was the daughter of Joseph "Guy" and Zilpha Jane (Cutsinger) Salisbury. She had 13 brothers and 2 sisters. Ella went to school at Taloga and Vici. She graduated from Vici High School in 1944. On Sept. 30, 1944, Ella was united in marriage to Ceford Wreath Castor in Woodward, Okla. and to this union four children were born. They are Clara Jane, Ceford Wreath Castor Jr.; Jacob Roy and William Dee. Ella worked at Milburn's Dry Goods at Vici and later at Trego's Westwear. She also worked as a waitress and cook for J. B. and Lois Nickels. She also worked for Gene Hackel as a cook and was also an excellent seamstress.

Ella was a member of the Christian Church in Woodward. She was also a member of the Woodward Rebekah Lodge.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ceford of the home; one daughter, Clara Jane Redding and husband Chuck of Wichita, Kan.; two sons, Ceford Wreath "Bud" Castor Jr and wife Pearl of Mutual; Jacob Roy "Jake" Castor and wife Karen of Mead; 13 grandchildren: 15 great grandchildren; three brothers Bill Salisbury and wife Nancy of Vici; John Salisbury and wife Dixie of Vici; Dennis "Hop" Salisbury and wife Mazel of Woodward; a host of nieces, nephews and good friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Zilpha Salisbury; ten brothers; two sisters and one son, William Dee "PeeWee" Castor who died in 1995.

Memorials may be made to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Lung Research or to the charity of your choice with the funeral home accepting the memorials.
