Russell Duane Clifft, formally of Harman, age 52 years and 13 days, died May 13, 2007 in Norman Regional Hospital, Norman, Okla. He was born April 29, 1955 in St. John, Kan. to Sylvia Sue (Collins) and Billy Arthur Clifft. He married Janis Workman June 26, 1996 in Liberal, Kan.
Russell attended Meade Grade School and completed his schooling in Liberal, Kan.
He was preceded in death by his parents Sue Whelan and Bill Clifft, his paternal grandparents, Willie Clifft and Frances Clifft-Ross, maternal grandparents, Harold and Hazel Petee and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins
He is survived by his wife Janis, Norman, Okla. Step-son Mike Passini and wife Diana and step-grandson Mike Jr. of Farmersville, Texas. Step-daughter Tammie Nelson and husband Brian and step-granddaughter Siarrah of Noble, Okla.
Step-mother Alice Clifft, step-grandmother Margaret Heskett, brother Kevin Clifft of Hugoton, Kan. Sister Beth Leonard Webter of Lakin, Kan. and her children, Michael Leonard of Hugoton, Mendy Howe of Satanta, and Shelly Shearon of Terra Haute, Ind. Sister Linda Holcomb and husband Joe, their children, Laura, Wade, and Bill of Hugoton, Kan. Sister Roberta Sue Boehnlein of Riverside, Calif. He is also survived by aunts Clydene Kopf of Enid, Okla., Wilma Harper of Vici, Okla., Charlotte Feil, Woodward, Okla., Virginia Jindra, Kingfisher, Okla., Uncles Tom Heskett, Joplin Mo., Dale Heskett, Rockwall, Texas and numerous cousins and friends.
At Russells request no services were held. Under the direction of Perimose Funeral Home, Norman Okla. Viewing was held Monday, May 14 for family and friends. Cremation followed May 15.
Russell took great pride in supporting both the Cherokee and Waynoka FFA chapters. In his memory donations can be made to either of these FFA organizations.
