Treva Cook, 87-year-old Shattuck resident, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008 in Shattuck. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church in Shattuck with Rev. Lisa Beavers and Pastor Marlon Sparks officiating. Interment will be at 4 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Drumright, Okla., under the direction of Johnsonís Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Shattuck.

Treva Irene Cook was born Nov. 17, 1920 in Gans, Okla. to John Calvin and Annie (McGowan) Bratton. She married Oswald Elbert Cook on Sept. 25, 1937 in Tulsa, Okla. They resided in Drumright, Okla. and later in Pampa, Texas in 1942. In 1968 the family moved to Shattuck, Okla. and made their home.

Treva enjoyed cooking and was known for her sugar cookies; she also enjoyed singing and always made music a part of her life and the lives of her children. She was a member of the Nazarene Church and was active in many church womenís groups.

The thing that gave Treva the most enjoyment in life was her family, children and grandchildren.

Mrs. Cook is preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers, Earl Bratton, Tom Bratton, Carl Bratton and David Bratton; four sisters, Anna May Weese and Jessie Cecil Jones, Audie Bratton and Tennie Bratton; a grandchild Victor Cook and a great grand-child, Kristina Kae.

She is survived by a son Charles Cook of Cushing, Okla., four daughters, Barbara Fleming and husband Jim of Crowley, Texas, Pat Brown and husband Marvin of Foss Lake, Okla., Joyce (Cook) Wells of Shattuck and Dena Bilyeu and husband Alan of Shattuck; three sisters, Freda Shehorne of Lawton, Okla., Viola Rodgers of Drumright, Okla., and Eulan Mullins of Oklahoma City; 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 17 great great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the St. Judeís Childrenís Hospital with the funeral home accepting the donations.
