Services Set Tuesday For J. W. Coover

J. Wylie Coover, 83, Woodward county resident since 1901, died Saturday morning, at his home in Sharon, following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Sharon United Methodist church. The Rev. Golden Shook and the Rev. R. W. Sharp will officiate. Burial will be in Elwood cemetery, with Stecher Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

He was born in Sovonsburg, Burbon County, Kans. on July 23, 1891. In 1901 he moved with his parents to Doris (later renamed Keenan) community. On May 8, 1911 he was married to Josie N. Ladd, and in 1916 they moved to Sharon where they have lived since that time. He was a rural mail carrier and served for 42 1/2 years before his retirement in 1958. He was a member of Modern Woodman of America and Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Josie, of the home in Sharon; two daughters, Mrs. H. T. (Fern) White, Woodward, and Mrs. Roy (Elva) Drake, Sharon; three brothers, Ernest E. Coover, Woodward, J. Cecil Coover, Oklahoma City, and E. Vern Coover, Wichita, Kans., and one sister, Mrs. Alice Rogers, Woodward, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

The family have requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Sharon United Methodist Memorial Fund.
