Funeral services for Linda Covalt, 59-year-old Woodward resident, will be Monday, Aug. 20, 2007 at 10 a.m. at the First Assembly of God Church in Woodward. The Rev. Lonnie Rutherford will officiate. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Johnsonís Good Samaritan Funeral Service. There will be a casual family dinner at the Holiday Inn Express Meeting Room on Sunday, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and the family will receive friends there from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Linda Ellen Covalt was born Dec. 26, 1947 in Mooreland, Okla. to Robert and Dorothy (Rinner) Baird. She grew up on the family farm west of Sharon and attended the Sharon school. In 1964, she was married to William (Bill) Covalt and they made their home in Woodward. Linda had worked at the Fruit of the Loom factory and National Oilwell and also had operated a poodle grooming business. For the last number of years, Linda had been occupied as a caretaker for her daughter LaDon Rae.

She loved to play softball and to bowl and at one time bowled on a team with both her daughter and her mother. She enjoyed playing basketball with her children and her grandchildren. She especially enjoyed hosting and preparing family meals.

Mrs. Covalt died Aug. 15, 2007 as the result of a car accident near Santa Rosa, N. M.

She is survived by her husband Bill of the home; two daughters, Lissa Holley and her husband Ron of Woodward and LaDon Rae Covalt of the home; a son and his wife Billy and Melba Covalt of Beale Air Force Base, Calif.; three grandchildren, Jason and Bryan Baker and Ronnie Holley; two great-grandchildren, Sammy and Timber Baker; three brothers and their wives, Robert E. (Bob) Jr. and Beverly Baird, Wesley (Butch) and Susan Baird, all of Woodward, and Harvey and Beth Baird of Sharon; two sisters and their husbands, Xyla and Floyd Hathaway of Sharon and Evelyn and Sam Ellington of Cardwell, Mo.; and other relatives.

The family requests that memorials be made to the American Red Cross with the funeral home accepting the donations.
