They lived in Woodward until 1954 when they moved to a farm near Longdale, Oklahoma. In 1959 they moved to Weatherford, Oklahoma, and bought a boarding house for college boys. In 1968 Ernest passed away. Margaret moved back to Woodward where she met and married James Davis. They lived in Woodward until his death. Margaret then moved to Sheridan, Wyoming, to be near her youngest daughter, Bessie Brewer. Margaret was preceded in death by her daughter Bessie Marie Brewer and granddaughter Candice Marie Brewer. Margaret is survived by her daughter Margarette Smith and her husband Ronald Smith of Lemoore, California; and her son Lawrence A. Ludden and his wife, Susanne Ludden, of Marlton, New Jersey; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one great, great grandchild.

Margaret, with only an 8th grade education, made sure her three children had a college education so they could support themselves in life. She attended many classes and became a life long learner. As an adult she learned to type, to swim, and she even became a nurse's aide. She worked as both a nurse's aide and a professional cook. In her spare time she loved to sew, sewing many beautiful quilts. She volunteered for many years at the VA Hospital in Sheridan, Wyoming, where she was honored with a 1,000 hours volunteer pin.
