Eleanor M. Dean, 87 of Pampa, Texas, died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007 in the Pampa Regional Medical Center. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2007 in the Elmwood Cemetery with the Rev. Eric Cox officiating. Burial will follow with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Eleanor Marie Richardson Dean was born on April 3, 1920 in Buffalo, Okla. to Utah Daniel and Lena Mabel (Ferguson) Richardson. She was reared in the Buffalo area and graduated from Buffalo High School. She moved to Oregon in 1945 from Enid, Okla. Eleanor was united in marriage to Orlin H. Dean on Feb. 14, 1953. The made their home in Eugene, Oregon. Eleanor began working for the telephone company on Jan. 2, 1948. She retired from the telephone company in February of 1982 after 31 years. Orlin preceded her in death on March 16, 2003

Eleanor enjoyed taking tours to see the sights in and around Oregon with her friends.

She is survived by five sisters and two brothers, Pauline Moore of Warner Robins, Ga.; Velma Matthews of Pampa, Texas; Thelma Clark of Shawnee, Kans.; Dolores Black and husband Jack of Woodward; Dorothy Cotter and husband Donald of Buffalo; Dean Richardson of Buffalo; James Richardson and wife Berdena of Pampa Texas; numerous nieces and nephews.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and a nephew, Casey Wayne Lake.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
