Samuel Henry Delp was born in Jefferson County, Penn., October 19th, 1840, and died in Woodward, Okla., on May 17th, 1921, aged 81 years, six months and 28 days.

In 1866 Mr. Delp was married to Amanda Melvina Crouch and of this union were born six children: Mrs. Ella Kellogg of Mt. Grove, Mo., M. L. Delp of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Gertrude Bosen and Mrs. Dessie Bosen of Payette, Idaho. O. F. and Charles Delp of Woodward, Okla.

Mr. Delp lived in Jewel County, Kansas, on land that he homesteaded, for 47 years, where, by his sterling character and upright manhood, he made a large circle of friends who will sincerely mourn his departing. He came to Woodward in December, 1919, where he and his aged wife have resided in their own home until his death. He is survived by his wife, six children and eleven grandchildren, by whom he will be sadly missed. His last days were passed in comparative peace and comfort and when he neared the end of the journey he talked freely of his passing, spoke feelingly of God's goodness to him and said he was prepared to go.

In his live he was tender and considerate to is wife and children, making many and great sacrifices for their comfort.
