Funeral services for Dollie Dodd, 97-year-old Woodward resident, will be Friday, Jan. 4 at 11 a.m. at the graveside in the Elmwood Cemetery in Woodward. The Rev. Clyde Irving will officiate. Arrangements are by Johnsonís Good Samaritan Funeral Service.

Dollie Josephine Dodd was born Nov. 2, 1910 in the Hackberry Hollar Creek Community in Ellis County, Okla. to Clyde and Anna (Myers) Cadwell. She grew up in the Ioland Community where she attended the country school and later went to the Arnett schools. On Oct. 26, 1927 she was married to Fred Dodd at Lipscomb County, Texas. They made their lifelong home in Woodward. She worked as a cook in many area restaurants. She also raised chickens and had a name for every one of them.

Dollie enjoyed sewing and playing table games. She also loved dancing and traveling. But most of all the love of her life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Dodd died December 31, 2007 at the Vici Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, in 1970; her parents; three children, Clyde, Leon and Dixie; five brothers; and one sister; two grandsons and two great-grandchildren.

She is survived by 6 daughters and their husbands, Joan and Lafe Mathis of Oklahoma City, Shirley and Cloyd Branson of Fort Supply, Deloris and Randall Allen of Blanchard, Claris and Aaron Miller of Shattuck, Pearl and Vernon Bozarth of Slapout, and Darla Marran and Dale of Oklahoma City; three sons, Raymond and his friend, Marge, of Oklahoma City, Max and his wife, Becky and Ronnie and his wife, Rhonda, all of Moore, Oklahoma; 30 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; and other relatives.
