Ethel Marie Elwood, 83, Liberal, Kan., died Wednesday, July 18, 2007, in Wichita, Kan.
She was born Sept. 16, 1923 a Quinlan, Okla., the daughter of Robert J. and Hattie E. Robinson Taylor.
She had attended school at Mooreland, Okla. and moved to Liberal in 1950. She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church, Liberal, Kan.
She married Kenneth C. Elwood at Woodward, Okla., on July 20, 1939, he survives.
In addition to her husband Kenneth C. Elwood; she is survived by one son, Robert C. Elwood, Blue Springs, Mo; three daughters, Edith Smith and husband Derl, Wichita, Kan.; Libby Atchley and husband Kerry, Liberal, Kan.; Margie Wells and husband Jeff, Liberal, Kan.; a special daughter, Mary Jane Smarsh and husband Gary, Wichita, Kan.; one sister, Lova June Hilbig, Sublette, Kan.; 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and four great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and a great-grandson.
Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Thursday at the Fellowship Baptist Church, with Rev. John Nelson, Yukon, Okla. and Rev. Bill Prater, Liberal, Kan. presiding.
Graveside services will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Mooreland Cemetery, Mooreland, Okla.
Friends may call at the Miller Mortuary 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
The family suggests memorials be sent to the Harry Hines Hospice, Wichita, or Fellowship Baptist Church Building Program in care of the mortuary.
