Gerald Dee Engel, 65-year-old resident of Woodward, died Feb. 2, 2007 at the Woodward Regional Hospital, Woodward.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Rev. Scott Boeckman presiding. There will be a 7 p.m. Vigil at the Zwanziger Funeral Home Chapel, Monday, Feb. 5, 2007 under the direction of Zwanziger Funeral Home.

Gerald Engel was born April 7, 1941 at Eagle City, Okla., to Ed and Myrtle (Short) Engel. He graduated from Elk City High School in 1959, he then attended Southwestern State College in Weatherford, Okla., with a masters in education. Gerald married Roseanne Paciorek on May 26, 1968 at Clinton, Okla. Gerald worked for the Woodward Public School as a bus driver. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 2974. Gerald enjoyed taking care of his grandson Caleb and just being with his family.

He is survived by his wife Roseanne Engel of the home, Woodward; a son, Michael Shawn Engel and wife Michelle, Oklahoma City; a daughter, Cynthia Marie Engel, Woodward; two brothers, Ronald Engel, Clinton, Okla., and Edward B. Engel, Weatherford, Okla.; a sister Yvonne (Engel) Davis, Weatherford, Okla.; four grandchildren, Caleb Weaver, Woodward, Abbie Weaver, Buffalo, Okla., and Elizabeth and Rachel Engel, Oklahoma City, and a host of other family and friends.

Gerald is preceded in death by his parents.
