Bryan Everett, 40-year-old Woodward resident, died Friday, April 13, 2007 in the St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2007 in the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Randy Hodgson officiating. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

David Bryan Everett was born on Feb. 23, 1967 in Elkhart, Kan. to Bobby Gene and Jeanie Mae (Rodriguez) Everett. Bryan attended Elkhart schools before the family moved to Woodward in August of 1980. He attended Woodward schools and graduated from Woodward High School in 1986. After graduation Bryan worked in the family businesses. After three years of dating he was united in marriage to Dawn Welsch on July 26, 1991 at his parents home in Woodward. Dawn and Bryan started their home in Sharon. He continued working in the family businesses until he went to work for Marcy Distributing in 1994. On Dec. 2, 1997 their first child, Cortney Helene was born, Half-Pint as he called her was the love of her daddy's life. In June of 2004, Justis James, B-B Gun as daddy called him was born. Bryan thought he was the luckiest man in the world because he had a healthy girl and a boy. He enjoyed coming home with gifts for them to do together, whether it was model horses for Cortney or trucks for Justis. Even when his back caused him pain he was on the floor playing or building something for them.

Bryan will always live on in the millions of friends he had. No matter what kind of day you were having, Bryan would make you smile because of his caring wittiness. Sometimes it would be as simple as calling his answering machine to see what it had to say. He loved his family, he loved life, he loved God.

Bryan's favorite pastime was sitting in God's nature hunting, fishing or seeing a beautiful sunrise. Bryan's dad was special to him and they spent many hours working on their race car. That was his dream, to someday race the car. We are sure that is now what he is doing in heaven with God as his co-pilot.

He is survived by his wife Dawn Everett of the home; one daughter Cortney Helene Everett; one son Justis James Everett both of the home; his parents, Bobby and Jeanie Everett of Woodward; one sister Denise Everett of Woodward; other relatives and many great friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

"Go after life as if it's something that's got to be roped in a hurry before it gets away."

Memorial contributions may be made to the Bryan Everett Children‚s Education Fund with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
