Death Notice

Ronnie and Kellie Franks of Woodward died Sunday, July 16, 2000 in an automobile accident near Alma, Neb. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in the First Baptist Church with Dr. Russell Duck officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations should be made to the Frank children with the funeral home acting as custodians.

Obituary

Ronald Ray Franks, 36 year old Woodward resident, died with his wife Kellie, Sunday, July 16, 2000 in an automobile accident near Alma, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church with Dr. Russell Duck officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Ronald Ray Franks was born November 3, 1963 in Woodward, Oklahoma; he was the son of Ted Rice and Vernetta Rittenhouse. Ronnie attended Woodward elementary schools and graduated from Woodward High School in 1982. After graduation, he worked in the oil field. He then began working for Pacesetter, working in Wichita, Kansas, Oklahoma City, Lawton and San Antonio, Texas. His son Josh was born in August of 1984 and son Curtis was born in July 1988. Ronnie returned to Woodward and continued working in the oil field. On September 9, 1994, Ronnie was married to Kellie Mitchell in Holister, Missouri. To this union, one son was born in June of 1996. He worked for Razien Metals before starting a scrap metal business, the Iron Pile in 1996.

Ronnie loved to fish and hunt and he also loved the outdoors. Ronnie and Kellie enjoyed gardening and camping. They complemented each other and went everywhere together.

He is survived by three sons, Josh of Texas, Curtis of Kansas, Devin of the home in Woodward; his mother Vernetta "Nita" Rittenhouse of Elk City; one brother, Jeff Franks and wife Paula of Cherokee; grandparents Homer and Beulah Donley of Woodward; grandparents V. E. and Dee Bacon of Woodward; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his father.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Franks Childrens Fund with the funeral home as custodian of the fund.
