Jan O. Fraze, 53-year-old Woodward resident, died Sunday, March 11, 2007 in the Woodward Regional Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2007 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel. Jan's final request was to have his body donated to the University of Kansas Medical Center for research and to help others with their fight against Hodgkins Disease. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Jan O. Fraze was born on Feb. 17, 1954 in Garden City, Kan. to William Cecil and Lenora Maude (Holmes) Fraze. He attended school in Garden City. Jan was inducted into the United States Army in 1972 and received a honorable medical discharge in 1973. Jan studied drafting at the Tulsa Junior College in Tulsa for two years in the 1970's. He worked in Tulsa, Houston, Texas, and Garden City, Kan. before moving to Woodward in 1995. He owned Jan's Soil Testing in Woodward.

He is survived by two sisters, Cecilia Sherraden and husband Ron of Garden City, Kan.; Susan Coester and husband Kenny of Girard, Kan.; one brother Willie Fraze of Plainville, Kan.; a very special friend, Linda Martin and her children of Norman; numerous nieces, nephews, great nephews and nieces, other relatives and many good friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father Howard Johnson and his grandparents.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
