Edgar Lee "Junior" Gleason, 55 year old Woodward resident, died Wednesday, June 4, 2008 in the Woodward Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2008 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Clyde Irving officiating. Interment will be in the Brumfield Cemetery, outside of Seiling. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.
Edgar Lee Gleason Jr. was born January 8, 1953 in Clinton, Oklahoma to Edgar Lee and Saveria Susanna (Guthrie) Gleason. Junior was raised in the Canton and Longdale area and attended the Seiling and Longdale schools. Junior helped his dad cut timber for a period of time before going to work in the oilfield as a Roughneck. He worked for various companies in the oilfield for over 30 years but was forced to retire in 2006 because of an injury. Junior was united in marriage to Betty Lee Zander on August 14, 2004 in Woodward, Oklahoma. They made their home in Woodward and have lived here since that time.
He is survived by his wife Betty Lee Gleason of the home; three brothers, Tommy Gleason, Rocky Gleason, Alvin Gleason all of Enid; one sister, Karen Wallace of Aline; nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, James Gleason and one sister Ellen Endicott.
