Gose Services To Be Sunday

Area Pioneer Dies After Long Illness

Funeral services for Charles C. Gose, 78 year old county pioneer will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the Sharon First Methodist Church. Rev. R. C. Brogan will officiate. Burial will be in the Elm Grove Cemetery northeast of Chester with the Redinger Funeral Home in Seiling in charge. He died Thursday in his home in Sharon following a long illness.

Born in Lynn County, Missouri, he came to Oklahoma in 1899, homesteaded in Fort Supply, later selling out and moving to Chester where he purchased land. For years he owned and operated his own threshing machine and in winter operated a sawmill in the community. In the 30's he sold his holdings in Chester and moved to Enid and lived for a time in Lacey and Waukomia before coming to Sharon two years ago to establish a home.

Survivors are his wife, Myrtle, of the home; 6 sons; Roy, Mooreland; Earl, Long Beach, California; John, Cashmere, Washington; Virgil and Gene, Enid; Clarence at Victoria, Texas Airbase; 2 daughters, Mrs. Irene Russell, Sharon; Mrs. Peggy Bridwell, Long Beach, California; four brothers, A. J., Newkirk; Walter, Woodward; Arthur, Darry, New Mexico; Claude, Mooreland; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Nichols, Rennels, Iowa; Mrs. Mabel Thompson, Honolulu, Hawaii and twenty-three grandchildren.
