Floyd L. Goss, 71-year-old Woodward resident, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007 in the Woodward Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007 in the Elm Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Kurzel officiating. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Floyd Lee Goss was born Nov. 4, 1935 in Randlett, Okla. to Doyle and Vennie Mae (Whitehead) Goss. Floyd attended Union Valley School in rural southern Oklahoma. Floyd was united in marriage to Ina Vurl Simpson on Aug. 16, 1957 in Weatherford, Okla. They were blessed with two children, Renee and Vickie. Floyd worked for Public Service of Oklahoma in Grandfield and Thomas, retiring after 38 years of service. He volunteered for 20 years for the Grandfield and Thomas Fire Departments. Floyd and Vurl made their home in Woodward in 1998.

He was a member of the Elm Street Baptist Church. Floyd's greatest joys were fishing, camping and going to car shows with his family.

He is survived by his wife Vurl Goss of the home; two daughters, Renee Broyles and husband Hal of Woodward; Vickie Lockstone and husband Mike of Wichita Falls, Texas; one sister Judy Brannon and husband A.B. of Randlett; four grandchildren Jeremy Broyles and wife Lacee; Nathan Broyles; Miles Lockstone; Matt Lockstone; twin great-grandchildren, Mikel and Memphis Broyles; other relatives, including nieces and nephews and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Billie Goss.

He will be remembered by all that knew him as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
