Funeral services for Nelle Harbin, 84 year old long time Mutual resident, will be Tuesday, September 20 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church in Woodward. The Reverend Russell Duck, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Good Samaritan Funeral Service.

Nelle Blanche Harbin was born February 5, 1904, in Woodward, Oklahoma Territory to Allen and Adelia Scates. On December 24, 1927 she was married to W. M. (Bill) Harbin and they made their home in Mutual. She served as Postmaster in Mutual for 28 ears, retiring in 1969. In 1978 she moved to Woodward and for the past few months (because of ill health) she had resided with her son and family.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Woodward.

Mrs. Harbin died September 17 in Leoti, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1968, and five brothers, Roy, Lloyd, Clint, Cecil and Allen Scates.

She is survived by a son, Dean and his wife, Dorothy, of Leoti, Kansas; two grandsons, Mike of Manhattan, Kansas and Ted of Hays, Kansas; a granddaughter, Shelly Flaherty of Leoti, Kansas; four great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Ruby Stocking of Woodward; and other relatives. Memorial donations may be made to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch with the funeral home acting as custodian of the funds.
