Leonard Hart, 88-year-old resident of Woodward, Okla., died May 18, 2006 at St. John's Hospital, Tulsa, Okla.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2006, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Holdeman officiating. Burial will be at a later date at the Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Zwanziger Funeral Home.

Marion Leonard Hart was born Feb. 5, 1918 to Lennie D. and Mary (Fowler) Hart in Woodward, Okla. He was a 1936 Woodward High School graduate, attended Woodward Junior College and graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1940. He was office manager for Fisher Grain for 40 years. Leonard married O. C. Belew May 4, 1952 and they spent 41 wonderful years together. He was a member of the First United Methodist church where he was church treasurer for many years and active in the Emmaus Walk. Leonard also gave of his time to Woodward Pride, Woodward Food Pantry, Theatre Board, Woodward Hospital Board, volunteer at the hospital, American Red Cross blood donor and driver and Woodward Senior Center Board.

Leonard is survived by a son, Dr. Len D. Hart and wife Pam, Collinsville, Okla., a daughter, Phyllis L. Lair and husband Pete, College Station, Texas, four grandchildren, Stephen Lair, Michael Lair, Ryan Hart and Valerie Hart, and three great-grandchildren, Jackson, Noah and Campbell. He also leaves behind a wide circle of wonderful friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, O. C., Nov. 13, 1993.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Leonard Hart Memorial Fund, First United Methodist Church, Woodward.
