Funeral services for Mary L. Hayes, 63-year-old Woodward resident, will be Saturday, July 29, 2006 at 10 a.m. at the graveside at Elmwood Cemetery in Woodward. Arrangements are by Johnson's Good Samaritan Funeral Service.

Mary Loretta Hayes was born March 29, 1943 in Woodward, Okla. to Nick and Cleona (Taylor) Mancillas. She grew up in Woodward and graduated from Woodward High School in 1962.

In 1965, she was married to Chester Hayes. At that time Chester was in the U.S. Navy and the couple lived in Florida, California and Texas. They moved back to Woodward in 1972. Mary enjoyed the duties of being a homemaker.

Mrs. Hayes died July 26, 2006 after a lengthy struggle with cardiovascular disease at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Enid, Okla.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester; her father; and an infant sister.

She is survived by her mother, Cleona Mancillas; her sister, Carolyn Riseley, and husband, Russell, all of Woodward; a sister-in-law, Janie Palmer, and husband, Gary, of Noble, Okla.; four nieces; two great-nieces; and five great-nephews.
