Funeral services for E. T. Hoberecht, Sr., prominent Watonga businessman, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at the First Presbyterian church in Watonga.
He died Thrusday, Jan. 11, at the Watonga hospital following a heart attack. He was 78 years old.
He was the owner and operator of the Blaine County Abstract Co. in Watonga and president of the Oklahoma Land Trust.
Hoberecht was born in Otterville, Mo., Dec. 18, 1889. He accompanied his parents to Oklahoma at an early age and spent most of his boyhood in Watonga. ON Oct. 16, 1912, he was married to Grace Woolman, who died in 1956. They had two children, Earnest Hoberecht, Jr. and Marita Jeanne Mills.
Hoberecht also is survived by a sister, Beulah Woodard of Tulsa, and Rolla Hoberecht, Executive Vice President of the Gilmore Commercial and Savings Bank in Los Angeles, Calif. He is survived by four grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Hoberecht entered the banking busines in Watonga after World War I and was president of the First Bank and Trust Company of Watonga. After leaving banking, he entered the abstrat business, first forming a new company and then buying out and merging with the Blain County Abstract Co., which he operated until the time of his death.
Funearl services were conducted by Rev. Louis Pattison, Pastor of the Presbyterian church of Ringwood. Burial was in the IOOF Cemetery at Watonga.
