Rachel Wineinger was born in Dubois county, Indiana, January 10, 1844, and died near Woodward, Oklahoma June 2, 1911.
She was married to Linden Holladay December 28, 1865. She removed whith her family to Oklahoma in 1902. The family consisted of eight children, five of whom are still living. They are Mrs. C. H. Kysar, Alva, Oklahoma, and Mrs. J. I. Carpenter, Mrs. L. L. Fine, Mrs. D. D. Brubaker and Mrs. A. A. Moore of this community.
Mrs. Holladay united with the Methodist church at the age of ten years and at the time of her death was a member of the M. E. Chrch near her home.
Of her father's family she leaves the aged father, four brothers and three sisters, all living at distant points.
After a prolonged illness during which the husband and daughters bestowed upon her every possible care, she passed peacefully to her rest beyond.
Mrs. Holladay was an earnest, conscientious woman who put duty before everything else in life. While we mourn, we realize that our loss is but her gain.
