Tommy C. Hopkins, 74-year-old resident of Boswell, Okla. and formerly of Woodward, died May 31, 2007 from a car accident in Lexington, Ky.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 9, 2007 at the Zwanziger Funeral Home Chapel with Ed Laird speaking. Burial will follow at the Vonton Cemetery, Woodward County, Okla., under the direction of the Zwanziger Funeral Home.

Tommy C. Hopkins was born March 13, 1933 at Ryan, Okla. to Charley and Rady Hopkins. He was the 10th child of 11 children. Tommy was in the United States Army from May 11, 1950 to May 13, 1953 in the 7th Cavalry during the Korean Conflict and was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received. He married Mickie (Ham) Thaxton, Aug. 5, 1955 at Okmulgee, Okla. After his service time he graduated from Okmulgee A&M Tech in Radio and TV repair and worked various jobs as a wireline operator from Texas to Wyoming and in managing and sales. Tommy enjoyed silversmith, panning for gold, traveling, playing dominoes and most of all visiting his family.

He is survived by three daughters, Kim Shaw and husband Rocky of Woodward, Vonnie Dunlap and husband Jody, Lexington, Ky., and Tye Smart and husband Austin, Atwood, Colo., nine grandchildren, Rocky Shaw and wife Kelli, Casey Show and wife Rebecca, Angie Rodriguez and husband Sorgio, Shannon Lillard and husband Clint, Josh Dunlap, Tommi Dunlap, Shae Cagle, Mica Rausch and Brett Rausch; eight great-grandchildren, Troylyn, Krista, Morgan, Seth, Colton, Macy, Peyton and Cole; two sisters, Joyce McMinn and Sue Stroud; a brother, Kerry Hopkins.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents Charley and Rady Hopkins, brothers Carl, Hugh, Buddy and Bill, by two infant brothers and one infant sister, by his wife Mickie Hopkins, in-laws Luke and Maxine Thaxton and son-in-law Mark Cagle.
