Charles Albert Hurst, son of Benjamin and Nancy Hurst, was born at Chula, Mo., October 3, 1878, and passed away at Fort Supply, Okla., April 11, 1950, at the age of 71 years, 6 months and 8 days.

He was baptized July 13, 1879

Mr. Hurst came to Oklahoma in 1900 and homestaded 6 miles west of Fort Supply, and has made his home around Fort Supply since that time. On January 24, 1900 he was united in marriage with Mary Edna Brant. To this union 12 children were born; Flossie and William of the home, Charles and Jim of Dunlap, Okla., Clarence of Enid, Chester of Compton, Calif., Lydebelle Stultz of Crane, Mo., Dorothy Iliff and Alberta Brumley of Woodward, Lucille Wright of Dragerton, Utah, and Ella Deloris Bardin who preceded her father in death.

Besides his wife and his children, he leaves to mourn his passing, 18 grand children and one great grandchild, two sisters, Ella St. Clair of Riverbank, Calif., and Bertha Otti of Modesto, Calif.; four borthers, Arthur Hurst Wichita, Kan., Henry Hurst of Woodward, Loren Hurst of Vici, and Earnest Hurst of Fort Supply; one sister and one brother proceded him in death. There are many other relatives and a host of friends.

Mr. and Mrs. Hurst celebrated their fifieth or Golden wedding anniversary recently with open house. The response from their community was evidence that they are loved and respected by all people of their community.

Funeral services were held in the First Christian church, Fort Supply at 2 p.m. Friday, April 14, 1960 with Rev. R. E. Black, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment was in Mt. Olive cemetery under the direction of Byron Mason Funeral Home.
