Oliver Nathan Love
February 14, 1872-July 17, 1944

Oliver Nathan Love, retired farmer, who had lived in this community for the past 39 years, died at this home at 1514 Fourth Street Monday afternoon, July 17, 1944, following a lingering illness.

Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Chenoweth Mortuary, with Rev. C.C. Grunewald officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in the Elmwoood cemetery.

Mr. Love was born on February 14, 1872 in Indiana and at a young age moved with his family to Kansas. He married Martha (Mattie) Josephine Griffis in Norton, Kansas, October 30, 1891. To this union eight children were born, Agnus Edith, Homer Roy, Mabel Clare, Mary Ethel, Harvey Raymond, Henry, Robert Harold Love, and Alice Pearl. He and his family moved to Woodward County in 1906 where he resided until his death at the age of 72 years. He was a member of the Baptist church.

Surviving his death are his children, Mrs. Agnes Pederson of Galveston, Texas; Homer Love of Woodward; Mrs. Ethel Sawyer and Henry Love, both of Olathe, Kan.; Robert Love of Wichita Falls, Tex.; and Mrs. Alice Rittenhouse of Woodward. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and his brother Henry H. Love of Woodward.

He was preceded in death by his wife Martha Love, his parents Hanson V. and Mary Ann Love, a daughter Mabel Poage, a son Harvey Raymond Love, and two grandchildren.
