Wilma Irene Lowry, 93-year-old Woodward resident, died Friday, December 29, 2000 in the Tender Heart Heath Care. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Elmwood Cemetery with the Reverend Gary Holdeman officiating. Burial will follow with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Wilma Irene (Gaston) Lowry was born on May 29, 1907 at the Family Sod Homestead west of Mutual, to Loren and Daisy (Hill) Gaston. Wilma attended school at the old Hackberry and later Sharon. On August 19, 1923 she was married to Elmer F. Lowry in Sharon. To this union one daughter Lucille was born. Wilma and Elmer continued farming in the Mutual and Sharon area for 17 years. In 1940 the family moved to the Moscow Flats community. In 1974 they retired and moved to Woodward.

Wilma was a very giving and loving mother to her family. She loved to sing and be with her many friends and family.

Wilma was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She is surivived by one daughter, Lucille Stocking and husband Leonard of Woodward; two granddaughters, Sandra Bowen and husband Russell of Richardson, Texas, Janet Glitsch and husband Randy of Woodward; five great-grandchildren, Kristi Johnson and husband Kyle of Oklahoma City, Ryan Glitsch of Oklahoma City, Josh Glitsch of Weatherford,. Ben Bowen and Jon Bowen, both of Austin, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years Elmer Lowry who died on January 17, 1991; her parents Loren and Daisy Gaston; three brothers, Eli, Clarence and Glen Gaston.
