Helen Payne, 78-year-old resident of Sharon, died Saturday, Sept. 24 in the Woodward Hospital and Health Center. Services are pending with Billings Funeral Home.

Helen Payne, 78-year-old resident of Sharon, died Saturday, Sept. 24 in the Woodward Hospital and Health Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Sharon United Methodist Church with the Reverend Gerald Holden and the Reverend Diane Gilliam officiating. Burial will be in the North Persimmon Cemetery in Sharon under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Helen Frances Bradshaw Payne was born September 3, 1915 in Cedardale, Okla; she was the daughter of Charles and Minnie Bradshaw. She attended school at Cedardale and graduated from Quinlan High School in 1933. On August 1, 1937, she was married to Waverly H. Payne at Cedardale. The lived southeast of Quinlan on the Vickery Ranch until 1945 when they moved to Sharon. They owned and operated the Sharon Feed Mill for many years until retirement. Her husband preceded her in death on February 1, 1985

Helen was an active member of the Sharon United Methodist Church and served the church in many capacities. She ha served as church treasurer, Sunday School teacher, was on the Pastor Parish Relations Committee and was a member of United Methodist Women.

She is survived by three children, Linda Knaak? and husband, Fred, Santee, Calif.; Kathy Crooks and Keith Payne, both of Norman; six grandchildren, Leslie Lea Swift, Kent Allen and Kristil Ann Endersby, Stefani and Kurt Crooks and Rynn Payne; five stepgrandchildren; one sister, Lucille Buttel and husband, Virgil, Woodward; one brother, Finley Bradshaw and wife, Mildred; on brother -in-law, Roy Johns, all of Mooreland; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two infant sons, Carl Allen and Zane Kent; three sisters, Laverne Johns, Alberta cooper, Arlene Shuck, one brother, Nelson Bradshaw and an infant sister and brother.
