Charles Phillips

Charles Phillips, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Phillips, was born in Pensacola, Fla., Feb. 8, 1867 and passed away at his home, 1224 Texas aeneu in Woodward, Okla. August 8, 1947, being 80 years and eight months of age.

Mr. Phillips was united in marriage with Miss Maggie B. Warnell at Linden, Tex., July 25, 1899 and to this union six children were born, three of whom preceded their father in death.

Mr. Phillips came to Oklahoma in 1900 to Pottawatomie county, later filing in Ellis county near Fargo and then moved to Woodward. He was a member of the Baptist church.

Surviving are his wife of the home, two sons, Alfred of Hutchinson, Kans., and Jim of Guymon, Okla., and one daughter, Mrs. Gertrude McKenna, also of Hutchinson. There are 16 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday morning at 10:30 at the Armstron Funeral Home with Rev. C. A. Kurtz officiating. Burial was made in the Fargo cemetery.
