Obituary

Jack Plummer, son of Larry Olif and Beulah Mae (Sims) Plummer, was born December 11, 1916, in Woodward County, northeast of Chester, Oklahoma. He departed this life early Monday, February 7, 2000 at the Woodward Hospital and Health Center.. He was 83 years of age 1 month and 26 days.

Jack was raised in the Elm Grove Community and attended elementary school at the Elm Grove School. He attended Richmond High School. He was united in Marriage to Leora Hedrick in 1938 and had four children; Frank, Billy, June and Pat. He married Jewell Hartzell, February 1, 1957 at Woodward. They had two daughters; Jackie and Jo Ann. They have made their home in Woodward Public School System for twenty-five years. He also farmed and raised cattle. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and raising watermelon. He loved his family and was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife Jewel Plummer of the home in Woodward; three daughters, June Hogsett and husband Bob of Drummond, Jackie Wilson and husband Jeff of Woodward and Jo Ann McCune and husband Galen of Buffalo; three sons, Lee Hartzell and wife Anita of Mutual, Dean Hartzell and wife Sharon of Woodward and Pat Plummer of Drummond; one daughter-in-law, Sumiko Plummer of Drummond; thirty-four grandchildren, thirty-eight great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; four sisters, Avis Anderson and Orvella Lieurance both of Alva, Josephine Wade of Augusta, Kansas and Dorothy Ball and husband Alfred of Fairview; one brother Buddy Plummer of Chester. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sons, Frank and Billy Plummer and Melvin Hartzell Jr.; and infant daughter, Carolyn Sue Hartzell; one sister, Mary Louthan and two brothers, Jerry and Bill Plummer.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p. m. Wednesday, February 9, 2000, in the Seiling Assembly of God Church with Rev. Clinton Heusel, officiating. Interment will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery at Woodward under the direction of the Redinger Funeral Home in Seiling. Memorials may be made for Alzheimer's research through the funeral home.
