Funeral services for Mrs. Mary E. Powers, 90 year old resident of Northwest Oklahoma since 1893, were held Wednesday, April 18 at the First Chirstian church in Freedom. the Rev. Max Wolfe officiated and burial was in the Hatfield Park Cemetery, Alva, Okla.
Mary Powers was born in McPherson, Kan, Nov. 18, 1882 and passed away April 16. She was married Dec. 25, 1902 to David H. Powers, who preceded her in death in November, 1934. The Powers family were early residents of Quinlan and Woodward, later moving to Freedom where they made their home for many years.
Survirors are three sons and two daughters; J. C. Powers, Cascade, Idaho; J. G. Powers, Woodward; Wm. E. Powers, Boise, Idaho; Mary Hutchinson, Santa Ana, Calif.; Pearl O. Wickser, Tulsa; one brother Clyde Stevenson, Qinlan; 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
