Last Rites For Reed Were Held Monday
Funeral services for Amos Reed, who died at his home fifteen miles southwest of Freedom on March 25, after being confined to his bed since January 1, on which date he suffered a paralytic attack, were held at the Haskew church, Monday afternoon, March 30.
Mr. Reed was a pioneer in Woodward county and has assisted greatly in building up the community in which he lived. His loss is deeply felt by his many friends and neighbors.
Samuel Amos Reed was born at Rich Hill, Mo., February 24, 1878. He departed this life March 25, 1936 at the age of 58 years, one month and one day.
He was married to Fannie Behrens, Dec. 3, 1901. To this union was born 10 children; two infants preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his passing, his faithful companion and eight children: Mrs. Easter Clark, Moreland; Mrs. Mabel Parsons, Woodward; Mrs. Eva Sample, Freedom; John Reed, Freedom; Ethel, Leo, Mary and Henry, at home. He also leaves his aged mother and father, 8 brothers and 2 sisters: Chas. Reed of Caldwell, Idaho; Ben Reed, Vinita, Okla.; Mrs. Fannie Gragg, Huston, Idaho; and Mrs. Etha Conner, Nampa, Idaho. A sister, Mrs. Carlotta Conner, perceded him in death. He is also survived by nine grandchildren.
At the age of 17 he was converted and joined the Baptist church at Rich Hill, Mo. He came to Oklahoma 36 years ago settling on the homestead where he resided until his death. He was a kind husband, a loving father, a devoted son and a good neighbor, and will be greatly missed by all.

County Pioneer, Amos Reed, 58, Passes Away
Amos Reed, 58, pioneer of Woodward county, died yesterday afternoon, 4:30 o'clock at the family home in Haskew community after an illness of three months.
Mr. Reed and his family homesteaded in Woodward county in 1900 and have made this their home since.
Body is at Armstrong Funeral Home where funeral arrangements will be made upon receipt of word from relatives in Idaho.

Funeral services for Amos Reed who died Wednesday afternoon at the family home in Haskew community will be held Monday, 2 o'clock, at the Haskew Baptist church.
Body is being held at the Armstrong Funeral Home. Relatives from Idaho arrive Sunday afternoon.
