Alice Pearl Love Rittenhouse
May 21, 1908-June 2, 1984

Alice Pearl Love was born May 21, 1908 in Woodward, OK the daughter of Oliver Nathan and Martha Josephine (Griffis) Love.

Alice attended Woodward Schools and was a graduate of Woodward High School. On July 15, 1925 she married Herschel Clinton Rittenhouse and the couple settled in Woodward. To this union two sons were born, Melvin Ray Rittenhouse of Woodward, OK and Dale Keith Rittenhouse of Midland, TX. Alice worked as a store clerk in several Woodward stores, retiring after 37 years. She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

She died at the age of 76 in her home at 1823 19th after a short illness. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of Stecher Mortuary. David Patten officiated the service and burial was at the Elmwood Cemetery.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents Olive and Martha Love, two sisters, Agnes Pederson, Mabel Poage, and two brothers, Homer Love and Harvey Love. She was survived by her husband, Herschel of home, two sons, Melvin Rittenhouse, Woodward and Dale Rittenhouse Midland, TX two brothers, Henry Love of Woodward and Bob Love of Olathe, KS and one sister Ethel Sawyer of Olathe, KS, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
