Retired Railroader Dies Here Sunday
Funeral services for Clinton D. Roberts were held Tuesday in the chapel of Byron Mason's Funeral Home, with Rev. Norman R. Stacey of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial was in Persimmon cemetery at Mutual.
Mr. Roberts died Sunday in the Woodward Hospital following an extended illness.
Clinton David Robers was born in Illinois on March 9, 1884. In 1901 he came to Woodward county with his parents who homesteaded a farm two miles west of Mutual. April 15, 1916, he married Iva Miller Keefer in Nebraska.
In 1920 Mr. Roberts started working wiht a bridge gang for the Santa Fe raildroad. He retired from railroad work in 1949. For the past two years he has made his home with his nephew and wife Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Morrison at 507 11th, in Woodward. He wife died in 1925.
survivors include his son Everett Roberts of Enid, two grandsons and a sister Mrs. Sally Stevens of Seiling.
