Mrs. Scates Dies Friday; Services Set

Mrs. Clint Scates a resident of 1402 Circle Drive, Woodward, died early Friday in Woodward Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in First Christian church. The Rev. Max Wolfe, pastor, will officiate. Burial under the direction of Stecher Mortuary will be in Elmwood cemetery.

The family has designated the American Cancer Society as a suitable meorial with the Stecher Mortuary as custodian of the fund.

Thelma Loula Campbell, was born at Knoxville, Tenn., on July 26, 1897. In 1915 she moved to northwest Oklahoma and on May 2, 1917 she was married to P. W. Belew. In the fall of 1917 she moved to Woodard, where she was an active member of the Christian church, a member of the Order of Eastern Stars, P. E. O., and the Past Matrons Club. On June 23, 1952 she was married to Clint Scates and he survives.

Besides her husband she is survived by one half sister, Mrs. E. P. Stedman, Knoxville, Tenn., and her granddaughter, Mrs. Phyllis Lea Lair, Dallas, Tex. Her only child, Ivan Belew, preceded her in death on April 26, 1950.
