Alta Jane (Fauver) Schwarz

Alta Jane Fauver, daughter of James and Hannah Fauver, was born in Jackson county, West Virginia Octber 2, 1875 and passed away at her home 16 miles northwest of Woodward, Okla., August 6, 1947, being 73 years, 10 months and four days of age.

December 21, 1893 she was united in marriage with Daniel E. Schwarz at Point Pleasant, West Virginia. Seven children were born to this union.

In 1906 she came with her family to Oklahoma locating in Harper county where they resided until 1925, when they moved to Woodward for five years, retrning to the farm and living there since. Mr. Schwarz died Jan. 15, 1941.

She was a member of the First Baptist chruch of Woodward.

Surviving are her two sons, A.W. Schwarz, Caldwell, Idaho, and Jim Schwarz who made his home with his mother, five daughters, Mrs. Lizzie Cowsar, Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Lucy Robestelli, Klamath Falls, Ore., Mrs. Hazel Scates, Spokane, Wash., Mrs. Edna Thomas, Pocatello, Idaho, and Mrs. Mable Hart, San Juan, Calif., and one brother, Fred Fauver, Point Pleasant, W. Virginia. There are 19 grandchildren and nine great grand children.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Aug. 10, 1947 at 4 o'clock at the Armstrong Funeral Home with Rev. L. O. McCracken, pastor of the First Baptist church, officiating. Burial was made in the Rock church cemetery north of Woodward.
