John Paul Seaburn went to sleep in Gods arms on April 30, 2009, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. John was the first son of Gary and Peggy (Gourley) Seaburn, born December 31, 1974, in Wichita, Kansas. On July 27, 1996, John married Felicia Pickering at the Vici Church of the Firstborn. To this union was born one son, Gage Isaac and one daughter, Chloe Rene’e. John and Felicia made their home in Wichita, Kansas until January 2009, when they moved to rural Vici. John said he felt better in the country.

While dating, John fell in love with Felicia and the country. He loved to fish and hunt with his wife and children and just enjoyed being outdoors. One of his greatest joys was seeing his family shoot their first deer. They had a standing joke the Felicia’s deer was the biggest. Fishing trips with the family and his yearly trips with his Daddy and buddies were something John greatly looked forward to.

John was a Maintenance Facility Technician for the Coleman Company until he was forced to retire due to ill health.

John was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn on August 9, 1995, at the Colorado Camp Meetings, by Brother Clifford Hutton. Going to the camp meetings was something John really enjoyed doing.

John is survived by his beloved wife, Felicia, son Gage and daughter Chloe of the home; his parents, Gary and Peggy Seaburn of Wichita, Kansas; two sisters, Melanie Seaburn and Melissa Joynt; one brother Luke and wife Jessica Seaburn all of Wichita, Kansas; his father and mother-in-law, Chuck and Lou Pickering of Vici, Oklahoma; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sheila and Ryan Bellew of Guymon, Oklahoma; and Shellee and Aron Fenton of Overland Park, Kansas; 15 nieces and nephews: Andrew Jones, Scotland and Julia Garcia, Mickey Joynt, Wade and Evy Robertson, Lexee Seaburn, Maggie and Molly Bellew, and Anndrea, Crandel, Christopher, Kathryn and Lauren Fenton; his grandma’s, Jaunita Skiles of Wichita, Kansas and Ruth McCoy of Perkins, Oklahoma; several aunts and uncles, many friends and a host of brethren.

John was a devoted husband, daddy, son, brother and friend. John was lovingly known as Uncle John John. John’s life touched many people over several states and he will be greatly missed. Preceding John in death was his niece, Lakin Jones, Grandparents Bill and Mary Gourley, Hill and Margaret Pickering, and Grandpa John McCoy, one of his fishing buddies.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 04, 2009 in the Church of the Firstborn, Vici, Oklahoma with burial following in Riley Cemetery. Services arranged by Shaw Funeral Home, Vici, Oklahoma. Condolences may be made to the family at shawfuneralhome.net
