Orville Malone SHEPHERD
Funeral services for Orville M. Shepherd, 61, will be at 10 A.M. monday, May 15, 1978 in Faith United Methodist church. The Rev. Clinton Heusel, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in De Bolt Cemetery at Arnett, under direction of Good Samaritan Funeral Service.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that contributions be made to the Leader Dog for the Blind Program, a Lions Club project, with the funeral home acting as custodian.
Orville M. Shepherd, January 24, 1917 in Catsby, Okla. He served in the U. S. Navy in WW II. On January 22, 1938 he was married to Wilma Spencer in Oklahoma City. They made their home in Pacoima, Calif. where he worked in a radiator repair shop. He was active in Lions Club and Boy Scouts of America while in California. In 1969 they moved to Woodward and he purchased and operated the Woodward Radiator Service.
He was a member of VFW Post 1335 in Woodward.
Mr. Shepherd died May 12 in Newman Memorial Hospital in Shattuck.
He is survived by his wife of the home; four daughters, Mrs. Alice McGeachy and Mrs. Donna Buckley, both of Saugus, Calif. Mrs. Sandy Bergeron and Mrs. Sherri Huff, both of Baton Rouge, La; one son, David Shepherd of Woodward; one brother, John Shepherd of Fargo; his step-father, Roy Briggs of Woodward; 15 grandchildren, one great grandchild.
