Former Local Resident Dies, Services Set
Mrs. Eldon (Ilene) Shirley, 55, of Evant, Tex., and a former Woodward resident, died Wednesday in Woodward Memorial Hospital following a heart attack.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Evant Funeral Home Chapel in Evant, Texas, with burial in Murphy cemetery. Local arrangements are being made by Stecher Mortuary.
Ilene June Thorpe was born June 1, 1924 in Mooreland. In 1939 she was married to Eldon Shirley in Ashland, Kan. They lived in Woodard before moving to Evant. She was a member of the Pentecostal church.
Survivors include her husband, Eldon Shirley of the home in Evant; four sons, Leroy Shirley, Brownwood, Tex.; Larry Shirley, Ft. Worth, Tex.; Eldon Shirley, Jr., Arlington, Tex.; four daughters, Mrs. Barbara Joplin, Haslet, Tex.; Mrs. Murial Ann Petett, Hamilton, Tex.; Mrs. Cindy Cassidy, Adamsville, Texl; Miss Brenda Shirley, Evant, Tex.; one half brother, Duane McNutt, Ft. Worth, Tex.; one sister, Mrs. Ruth Cole, Ft. Worth, and 10 grandchildren and ? Great grandchildren.
