George Everett Smales Sr., 84, Woodward, died Feb. 11 in Woodward Hospital.

Funeral Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Good Samaritan Funeral Service.

Funeral services for George Everett Smales, Sr., 84, will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the Chapel of Good Samaritan Funeral Service. Harold Starbuck, pastor of Heritage Christian Church will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

George Everett Smales was born Aug. 16, 1900 in Nardin, Okla. On Feb. 10, 1921 he was married to Mildren Ball in Woodward, and they made thier home in Woodward for a short time. He then managed Long Bell Lumber Companies in Meno, Lahoma, Perry and Waynoka before returning to Woodward where he was manabger of the Long Bell Lumber Company for 12 years. In 1948 they made their home in Clovis, N.M. where he managed Long Bell Lumber Company. He retired in 1964 after 45 yeas with the company. They returned to Woodward in October of 1984. He was a member of Heritage Christian Church, a member of Woodward Masonic Lodge No. 189 AF & Am, and a 32nd Degree York Rite and a member of Shrine Temple of Alguquerque. He was preceded in death by a son, George Everett Smales, Jr. in 1983.

Survivors are his wife, Mildred, of the home; one daughter, Novie Baker, San Diego, one brother, Ardee Smales, Michigan City, Ind.; two sisters, Grace Markett and Deloris Crawford, Denver; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren
